Fay Darmawi

Fay Darmawi believes in making the process of changing the built environment more inclusive.  She can be seen at the North Beach Farmer’s Market soliciting everyday people to support our local public parks and libraries.  When she is not canvassing on street corners, she is a Community Development Finance banker for Silicon Valley Bank providing loans and equity investments for the construction of low income housing in the Bay Area.  Her portfolio is valued currently around $100 million.  Prior to banking, she was a project manager at Eden housing, Inc, a premier affordable housing developer based in the East Bay.

Ms. Darmawi has a master’s degree in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (where she bumped into James Rojas at a “T Stop” on the first day of class and became fast friends for the next 25 years).  She is committed to raising twin boys in the multi-layered urban environment that is North Beach.  She also has earned a certificate in screenwriting from the UCLA Extension Film Program.  fdarmawi@streetutopia.org
